OH MY GOD! “An Act of God” can best be described as a satirical take on the Bible. This time the Almighty has taken form of Emmy Award winner, Sean Hayes (Will & Grace). Accompanied by his Archangel sidekicks, Michael (David Josefsberg) and Gabriel (James Gleason), God will finally set the record straight by answering some of life’s most probing questions inflicted on mankind since the beginning of creation.
God’s cometh in Hollywood is very fitting as he shares with the audience a reboot of his greatest work “The 10 Commandments.” But things also get personal as he discusses his wife, Ruth and their 3 children-Zach, Kathy and the most notable Jesus.
We caught the show during previews earlier this month. Sean Hayes is devilishly delightful in this critically acclaimed 90-minute comedy, written by Emmy Award winner, David Javerbaum (The Daily Show) and produced by Tony Award winner, Joe Mantello (Wicked).
After the show, we were invited to go backstage to chat with “God” himself, Sean Hayes. He even asked us what WE thought about the show? Luckily, I loved it because it would have been a sin to lie to God! A special thank you to his husband, Scott Icenogle for the invite!
An Act of God is playing at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles now through March 13, 2016 and The Golden Gate Theatre in San Francisco from March 29, 2016 through April 17, 2016.
